Most times, that’s where admiration lives. For a little over a decade now, I’ve been following the coolest squad out of Mid-City. Since 2014, FRSH.CITIZN has kept the wave flowing — carving out moments, dropping gems, and setting a standard for originality that still resonates today.
When Wichi 1080 dropped Hommie Time, I knew FRSH.CITIZN wasn’t just another collective. They were a movement. The same energy carried into #50FANSMONDAYS from Bonafide Billi, You Don’t Know Me Yet from Priddy Ugly, and KLYMAX from KLY — tracks that soundtracked countless phases of my own story. Their music shaped the backdrop of nights out, long drives, and creative sparks that never faded, even when seasons changed.
FRSH.ANTHMS came from wanting the camp to collaborate on a single project as a group. It became a celebration instead — a tribute woven from their many fires, big and small. From their 2018 freestyle to TonyFour’s Late Night With Walo, to DJ So Nice’s Happy Thoughts — it’s all here, layered into one compilation that feels both nostalgic and timeless.
FRSH.CITIZN reminded me what it means to move as a unit while shining as individuals. Their hustle has been the heartbeat of Mid-City cool, and their influence is still felt wherever the sound travels. As a FRSH.CITIZN, better eat first and sleep last. May the team stay strong. May TwntyFour record The Prophecy. Until the next party, until the next freestyle, until the next anthem — FRSH.ANTHMS is for the legacy.
