They couldn’t let me be cold, so I warmed up to them.
The first Smoking Flames compilation came in the depths of solitude.
This one — the sequel — arrived when they couldn’t let me go.
I valued my own company so much that they had to feel my hype for themselves.
As attractive as they were, they felt the pull of my push.
Telling them I’d rather stay single sounded like a challenge, and challenges excite people who see fire.
So they leaned in.
This compilation was born when the Phondeaux Experience began turning into a shadow behind Phondeaux Vibes.
When The Phondeaux Effect started giving life — breathtaking, consuming, magnetic.
Smoking Flames II honours the ones who felt the spark and fought to keep it alive.
This is for the ones who rolled one for me, poured one for me.
The ones who held space for me and spilled grace on me.
The ones who arrived in rhythm and stayed in character.
You’re still honoured in art.
