Sweetest Daze

Compilations from a Don

The rush of the hustle demands constant motion.

Staying on your toes becomes second nature. But moving without pause can leave you too dazed to trust the process. That’s when the Sirens begin to sound their sweetest. In that daze, I let them sway me.

What began as a sway turned into a hold — one that wanted me close, present, and still. My time became divided, but never my attention. Each moment was given fully, each presence met with intention. My lack of chill translated into a different kind of thrill — one that made them feel safe enough to stay, to care, to give.

I found myself despondent to the weight of everything else life was throwing my way. But through their touch, I became aware of scars I hadn’t noticed. The kind you don’t speak on. The kind you only feel when someone meets you where you are. In those moments, I gave back what I could — presence, energy, something real. Between us, they were the ones who felt the joy most clearly.

Maybe they taught me how to feel again. How to let moments exist without trying to control them. They slowed me down just enough to release what needed to be released. In the heat of each moment, there was a quiet kind of clarity.

When the tide shifted and trouble approached, they found safety in their Don. Not because I had all the answers, but because I stayed present. We found fun in each other — flirting with feeling, sometimes even flirting with danger. A couple even flirted a little too close to the edge, chasing the thrill until Survivor’s Resentment found its way into paradise.

That’s a story for another compilation. This one is about the daze they sweetened.

Enjoy loudly. Stay sound.
